Sale and Altrincham Messenger - Days lost on 'handyman' tasks
Offices across Trafford are wasting more than eight days of work time per year carrying out odd jobs, according to a study by handyman firm The Handy Guys.
Eighty-two per cent of those surveyed admitted that the office receptionist was the person most frequently called on to fix a problem - with no consideration as to whether he or she knew how to deal with the issue.
John Morgan, of The Handy Guys, which specialises in handyman style jobs for domestic and commercial clients, said: "Our research shows that business staff are being dragged away from far more important tasks, as bosses strive to keep costs to a minimum. Carrying out odd jobs, however, can take up valuable time and take even longer if people don't have the right experience."
